Here are several questions/observations from congregants from this week's service:
1. I wonder if there is a connection between the God gene and the scripture passed about the chosen? This person was referring to a book, The God Gene: How Faith is Hardwired into Our Genes, referenced in the sermon and a Time magazine article that Alan used, "Religion: is God in our Genes". The Bible reference could be from several different passages about being chosen. Here is one from Romans 8:29-30
2. Science and faith is not an either/or thing. Really, it is a both/and.
3. This sermon helps a person to realize that they have not used all of the gifts they've been given. This gives them a new appreciation of the gifts, if they are genetic, and a new desire to use them.
4. People who have autism may have been gifted in some other ways.
What are your thoughts?
